I received this bracelet as a gift recently and I love it so I thought I would share it on my blog. It's a coral colour despite the lighting and I just think it looks beautiful.

Prime Time!

Primers are used after moisturiser and before foundation to give a smooth canvas and help your makeup to last longer. I have tried 4 primers and my favourite out of the ones I have tried has to be the benefit porefessional but I need a primer that will fill in pores and control shine while keeping make up on all day and am yet to find one that works amazingly well for me.

Benefit Porefessional: an oil free lightweight translucent silky balm to minimise pores. For me, this works well under powder foundation but with liquid I would suggest waiting a good 10 minutes before applying the foundation over it to let it set. It is okay at preventing shine and makeup lasts that little bit longer. It does a great job at minimising pores!

Givenchy Mister Mat: this is a slightly thick clear gel consistency and does create a smooth base but it is a little heavy and does not keep me matte unfortunately which is a shame since it is high-end but maybe it's just my skin. Everyone is different it may work for you!

Smashbox photofinish: This one is a similar consistency to the Givenchy one but slightly more runny. For me, this did nothing at all but the light version of it is much better in my opinion.

Loreal studio secrets primer: This is a pale pink mousse consistency and definitely creates a smooth base but it gets SO cakey. It was the first primer I ever tried and it just is too cakey for me.

Boots Botanics 100% Organic Facial Oil

Although I have combination oily skin, it is still important to keep it hydrated. Especially in the winter months when it can get a bit lack lustre. I had a coupon for 100 advantage card points when purchasing a product from the boots botanics range and decided to try this oil.

I like the fact that it is 100% organic and that it contains rosehip. I use it every other night and when I wake up my skin feels nourished and a little glowy.

I really don't like the smell, I can't describe it but it's not very pleasant to me personally. It also takes quite a while to sink into my skin so I have to massage it in well and wait for it to be absorbed but maybe that's just my skin.

Other than that, I like it and I find that facial oils are a lovely treat!

Real techniques brushes!

I'm usually a sponge girl when it comes to applying foundation but I wanted to try out some brushes and decided to get the real techniques core collection by Samantha Chapman. What appealed to me the most was the buffing brush!

The brushes come in a very useful travel case which I actually really like.
The brushes don't shed at all and they are really easy to clean. They even have a flat end so you can stand them upright if you want to but I like to keep mine in a pot.

My favourite brush is the buffing brush because it makes applying base products so quick and simple and you can really buff it in. I do want to try the expert face brush though as I think that would give a very flawless finish.

The foundation brush I use the least but I have used it for contouring a few times but I find it a little small for the whole face.

The detailer brush is so cute! I use it to apply eyeliner or eyeshadow under my lashline to give some definition to my eyes.

The contour brush is great! I use it for blusher because I tend to apply a small amount of blusher diagonally above my cheek bones and this brush is perfect for this!

Overall it is a great set of brushes and the price is great too! I would highly recommend them!

Revlon Just bitten kissable balm stain

I never really liked the felt tip type lip stains because they were very drying. These balm stains are dupes for the Clinique chubby sticks but way more affordable! I picked up the shade honey and for me it is a my lips but better shade. It is like a mauve/ pink colour. It goes on very creamy and has a slight peppermint cooling sensation when first applied but this disappears. It goes on like a tinted lip balm but after about 10 minutes it turns into a fairly pigmented stain and for me it stains a little darker than when first applied but I still like the colour even then! It is so long lasting it lasts the whole day without having to reapply! If you don't like reapplying lipsticks and want something that stays on all day without having to worry about it I would definitely recommend these!

Catastrophe cosmetic!

One of my new years beauty resolutions was to try more face masks and I wanted something natural and organic so i went to lush! I have combination oily spot prone skin so i was recommended catastrophe cosmetic by the lovely SA. It contains blueberries which is an antioxidant, irish moss, almond oil and calming chamomile. Unlike most products for oily skins which strip the skin of moisture this one contains lots of goodies! I love this mask it feels nice and cooling when applied and dries within 10 minutes. My skin feels calm and soft after using it. You can see the bits of blueberries in it and the smell is claylike which I don't mind. In the picture the lighting makes it look more cream coloured but it is actually grey/bluish. Will definitely repurchase!
